Stacion - Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina is pleased to introduce the presentation of Nebojša Milikić, part of the Public Program of Summer School as School 2017.

Nebojša Milikić: Why IKEA wasn’t founded in Babusnica but in Sweden? (According to historical museums in Belgrade and Stockholm)

The presentation starts from a newspaper article, one in a series of media announcements that promote the opening of the IKEA department store near Belgrade. In response to the question from the title, the author of the given article presents the thesis that the reason for such an outcome is the existence of an "obviously brilliant mind" which in Babusnica (a small town in an underdeveloped region of Southern Serbia) simply cannot exist while in Sweden it naturally does. The question that we focus at is if and how one such mysterious conclusion could be drawn from the current exhibitions of historical museums in Stockholm, Belgrade or elsewhere in today's Europe.
