Stacion - Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina is pleased to introduce the presentation of Boris Buden part of the Public Program of Summer School as School 2017.
Lost in Time. On the temporal dimension of the neoliberal disorder
The lecture will address perhaps one of the most pressing challenges imposed today on the contemporary critical thinking—the loss of and search for a general temporal orientation in the world of global capitalism. The fact that such an orientation might no longer refer to history as the main area of its search characterises best this condition. If once people could have got lost in history, today is the loss of history itself the major symptom of their temporal disorientation and the key distinguishing feature of their temporal experience. In this context the lecture will ask whether the concept of the so-called post-history is still valid today. It will also discuss the tropes of temporal differences and clashing temporalities in the time of crisis of the neoliberal globalization and a crumbling post 1989 order.
